Good read as usual. I’m still optimistically skeptical we can keep it up, as a true lifer Sabre’s fan. I’d love to get Vesey going. Found a good read on him

he's been a disappointment so far and i'm sorry to say that I think Sobotka has contributed more to the team than him

Good read. I have to agree Scandella looks great, I'd even argue he's been the sabres 2nd or 3rd best defenseman this year, in a year where all six are having average or better seasons.

I have assumed for the entire off-season he has zero trade value, but if Montour comes back maybe someone throws you something for Scandella? He could help a lot of teams, and there is just no room for him here soon.

Agreed. He doesn’t seem to play with any speed to his game. He also can’t create space (which he appears to need to be productive).

I was excited about his ability to get even strength goals, draw penalties but agreed on Sobotka Looking better at this point. Might have to flip Skunk and Vesey for a couple games to get Vesey going. Sounds crazy but Skunk has proven to be very versatile

Good read and assessment. I'm interested to see when we start playing teams like tampa and toronto how we match up this year.

We have an interesting line of Mitts, Erod and Vesey. They are all similar players in a sense - It's kind of tough that they are all together as they probably are the three forwards with the most to work on their game.

Once some lineup changes are needed I wouldn't be surprised to see vesey move up the lineup a bit.

great point...

Tampa's lineup is deep top to bottom
Toronto has a helluva forward group....

both teams have strong goaltending

cool part about them right now is that even though they only have two points to their credit, they're a combined plus-5 so at least they're not getting scored on

One thing that's the same about this streak as last year's...save percentage. The sabres are getting really good goaltending. Hutton has been around long enough that he is fairly certain to regress to the mean, but maybe Ullmark can stay at an above average level and show some growth.

The good thing this year is with the way the team is playing team defense are goalie's aren't getting hung out to dry as much as last year.

I think we are letting up far fewer quality chances, which is going to help both goalies.

I’d like to try

Skinner/joho/Vesey
Sobotka/Tage/Sheary

Send Mitts down for some conditioning
